He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend George Washington Nelson and Mary Ruth Stephenson Nelson; and his siblings, Bertha Ruth Gibbs, Thelma Alford, Dorothy Nelson, Ruth Anderson, Edna Thompson, Richard Nelson, Robert Nelson, James Nelson and Dave Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Ida Bell Nelson; his children, Catron Scott and Rosalyn Nelson; and his siblings, Betty Phillips, Peggy Jackson, Leon Nelson and Howard Nelson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lowe-Gardner Funeral Home (1102 E Goode St, Quitman, TX 75783). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
