It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnny Evans of Lubbock, Texas, who passed away on April 15, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Johnny has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Evans and Cyrilla Evans (Brugxe); and his former wife Doris Evans (Benson). He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Evans (Donahoe); his sons, Rodney Evans of Lubbock and Rodrick Evans of Lubbock; his brother Russell Rosette (Rita) of New Iberia, Louisiana; his stepdaughter Demetria Hurd of Plano; his cousin Dianne Bellard-Bagwell; and his grandson Jonathan Evans of Denton.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Combest Family Funeral Home - Lubbock (2210 Broadway, Lubbock, TX 79401). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sunset Church of Christ (3723 34th St, Lubbock, TX 79410).
