He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Kennedy and Betsy Kennedy. He is survived by: his wife Jo Ellen Kennedy (Talafuse) of Irving; his daughter Marla Hartsell (Lance); his grandchildren, Evangeline and Jameson Beau Hartsell of Dallas; his daughter Sarah Ellis (Hunter); his grandson Jude Kennedy Ellis of Denver; and his sisters, Kerry Carlton (Kirk) of Granbury and Sue Anne Braddock (Randy) of Georgetown, Texas.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Browns Memorial Funeral Home (707 N MacArthur Blvd, Irving, TX 75061). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, June 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Irving Bible Church (2435 Kinwest Pkwy, Irving, TX 75063). As a result of his commitment, the Journey class has continued to flourish over the years even during the COVID pandemic.
