Johnny Richardson

(85 years old)

Johnny Bob Richardson, affectionately known as "Pop" to family, friends, and countless others whose lives he touched, passed away on June 9, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born on April 6, 1941, in Cisco, Texas, Johnny Bob was the son of J.T. Richardson and Dorothy Richardson McDougall. He moved to Arlington to raise a family and then moved back to Cisco after he retired. Wherever he was, he built a life rooted in faith, hard work, family, and service to his church.

Johnny married the love of his life, Koretha Anderson, on September 2, 1961. Together they shared nearly sixty-five years of marriage and built a family that became the center of his life.

He worked for General Motors for 35 years in Arlington before becoming a partner in Chicken Express restaurants in Cisco and Eastland alongside his son, Keith. Johnny was an active member of Old Gospel Church in Cisco, served as a Scout leader, and was a former member of the Cisco City Council.

Johnny had a remarkable gift for making people feel like family. His kindness, generosity, and genuine interest in others created lasting friendships that extended far beyond his family. To many, he was simply known as "Pop," a name that reflected the warmth, wisdom, and love he freely shared with everyone around him.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time with family, and being involved in his church. Whether through his church, his work, or simply someone standing next to him, Johnny had a way of making people feel welcome, valued, and cared for.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. and Dorothy Richardson.

Johnny is survived by his beloved wife, Koretha Richardson of Cisco; his son Keith Richardson and wife Michelle; grandchildren Hailey Hine and husband Brian Hine of Early, and their sons Jonathan and Jameson; Natalie Burge and husband Austin Burge of Cisco and their son Brody; son Kevin Richardson and wife Kemper Richardson of Austin ; grandson Cade Richardson of New York City; and granddaughter Carly Richardson and her fiancé, Nikita Larichev, who are stationed in Hawaii.

Johnny Bob's legacy lives on through the family he loved, the church he served, and the countless people who proudly called him "Pop.". Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at the Old Gospel Church in Cisco. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Dennis McClure officiating.
