He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Koenig and Irene Koenig (Bachelder); his brother Mark Koenig; and his brother-in-law Pat Conway. He is survived by: his wife Marsha Koenig (Gunderson) of Austin, TX; his daughters, Anne Koenig (Catherine Glass) of San Diego, CA, Laura Koenig of Marshall, MN and Jennifer Braham (David Braham) of Austin, TX; his grandsons, Micah and Oliver Braham of Austin, TX; his siblings, Sally Conway of Cedar Falls, Gale Koenig (Kathy Koenig) of Castalia and Lon Koenig of Castalia; Nicole Lunde of Buda, TX, Charlotte of Buda, TX, Lorelei McCall of Buda, TX and Christopher Lunde (Kendall Henry) of Buda, TX. He is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 14th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (301 1st St NW, Waverly, IA 50677). A memorial service was held on Sunday, June 14th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
Any memorials can be directed to the family for later designation.
