He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete Pettes and Jolinda Pettes; and his father-in-law Don Wren. He is survived by: his wife Lanie Pettes of Dallas, TX; his children, Jeff Pettes of Dallas, TX and Lindsey; his son-in-law Preston Sharp of Argyle, TX; his granddaughter Charlie Mae Sharp (Preston); his mother-in-law Joanne Wren of Dallas, Texas.; Jayce and Colton Sharp. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and an extensive circle of extended family and lifelong friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church of Garland (115 S Glenbrook Dr, Garland, TX 75040).
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made either to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society in the name of Rod Pettes.
