He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Gerald P. Schatzel Sr. and Marlene Schatzel (Carpino); his daughters, Katie Pape (Michael), Brittany Counts (Nick) and Marissa Olsen (David); his grandchildren, Preston, Carter, Brody Pape, Colton and Wyatt Counts; his siblings, Linda Schatzel, Michael Schatzel, Theresa Schatzel and Peter Schatzel; and his cousin Tommy Carpino. He was also cherished by Aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. (27 Smith Ave, Kingston, NY 12401). A procession will be held on Monday, January 8th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A mass of christian burial will be held on Monday, January 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (166 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401).
