It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jay W. Bretschneider of Grafton, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 1, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Bretschneider and Minnie Bretschneider; his in-laws, Alvin and Barbara Schommer; his siblings-in-law, Joyce Wood and Mike Kowalezyk; and his niece Lindsay Kultgen.
He is survived by : his wife Marlene Schommer; his sister Sandy Mayer (Larry) of Fredonia; his godson Bradley Mayer (Allison) of Fredonia; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Schommer (Pamela), Ernie Wood, Janice Kowalezyk (Jim), Donna Kultgen (Michael) and Lori Schmit (William). He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 8th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. John Lutheran Church (824 Fredonia Ave, Fredonia, WI 53021). A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 8th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 8th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery - Fredonia (824 Fredonia Ave, Fredonia, WI 53021).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jay's name to St. John Lutheran Church in Fredonia.
