With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Harold VandenAvond of Green Bay, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 2, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Peter VandenAvond and Eleanor VandenAvond (Bins); his parents-in-law, John and Anna Delaruelle; his brothers, Ralph VandenAvond, Clarence VandenAvond (Lavonne) and Louis VandenAvond; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Boehm (Robert), Elaine Johnson (Don) and Donald Delaruelle (Vernie).
He is survived by : his wife Rita; his children, Kathy Zegers (Steve), Peter VandenAvond (Brenda), Mike VandenAvond (Sarah), Mark VandenAvond (Laura), John VandenAvond (Mary), Mary Kluth (Tom) and Jean Destache (Mike); his grandchildren, Kristine Mostek (Pat), Andrew Zegers (Jackie), Dana VandenAvond (Dan), Molly VandenAvond (Sean), Evan VandenAvond, Kyle Hiller, Trevor Hiller (Alexis), Jesse VandenAvond (Dayna), Bobby VandenAvond, Jessica Leonard (Dylan), Lauren Michaels (Mitch), Shaynah Gedemer (Caleb), Brandon Destache, Brianna Destache (Tristin) and Brett Destache; his siblings, Jack VandenAvond (Suzy) and Mary Hansen (Len); and his sister-in-law Barb VandenAvond. He is also survived by his 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 8th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 9th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A wake will be held on Monday, January 8th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Parish Wake Service (1630 E Mason St, Green Bay, WI 54302). A mass of christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church (2040 Hillside Ln, Green Bay, WI 54302).
