We are sad to announce that on March 10, 2024, at the age of 97, Mary Gertrude Stranckmeyer of Aurora, Illinois, born in Quincy, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles W. and Nettie; her husband Kenneth C. Stranckmeyer; her siblings, Helen, Elizabeth, Patricia and Roger Thornton; her brothers-in-law, Theodore Hollembeak and James Bernhardt; and her son-in-law Gary Avram.
She is survived by : her children, Janis Blatner (Phil) of Oswego, Joyce DeBernardis (John), Mary Avram and Jeffrey Stranckmeyer of Mahomet; her grandchildren, Peter (Angela), Joshua (Penny), Melissa (Jeremy), Billy (Laurie), Shawn (Kirsten), Adam (Luana), Christopher, Ashley, Kristie (Jeff), Lauren (Aaron), Bobby (Jessica) and Joey (Taylor); and her sister Carol Sue Mast (Jerry). She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dunn Family Funeral Home (1801 Douglas Rd, Oswego, IL 60543). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 15th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anne Catholic Church (551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, IL 60543).
