He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles A. Smalley, Sr. and Jessie C. Holderly Smalley; his son Richard Smalley; and his great grandchild Quinn Nicole Peters. He is survived by : his children, Randi Meyer (Steve) of Bloomington, Susan Pennypacker (Curt) of Normal and Charles W. Smalley (Kristy) of Normal; his grandchildren, Angie Swartzendruber (Scott) of Minier, Andy Smalley of Bloomington, Allyson Meyer of Bloomington, Samantha Smalley (Michael Evans) of Bloomington, Bradley Smalley of Normal, Chelsea Bittick (Ryan) of St. Louis and Bailey Peters (Mike) of Champaign; his great grandchildren, Adam and Emma Swartzendruber; and his caregiver Crystal.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 9th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Christian Church (401 W Jefferson St, Bloomington, IL 61701). A funeral service was held on Monday, June 10th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Normal Firefighter's IAFF Local 2442 c/o Survive Alive House or First Christian Church of Bloomington.
