She was predeceased by : her parents, Vernon Johnson and Margaret Sundquist Johnson; her husband Michael Akin; and her brother Larry Johnson. She is survived by : her children, Karen Cox (Bruce) of Pleasant Plains, Mary Gail Kwiecinski (Bruce) of Vernon Hill, William Hood (Mary) of Richmond and Robert Hood (Pam) of Columbus, OH; her stepsons, Travis Akin of Edwardsville and Anthony Akin (Jane) of Maryville; her grandchildren, Rachel, Christopher, Daniel Kwiecinski, Joshua, Matthew, Nathan, Gabriel Hood, Andrew and Lauren Cox; her stepgranddaughters, Grace and Sophie Akin; her sister Diane Rothenberg (Tim Fritchley) of Champaign; and her sister-in-law Ruth Johnson. She is also survived by four nieces and nephews.
