It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronald H. Deering of Champaign, Illinois, born in Covington, Kentucky, who passed away on August 16, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Naul Deering and Jane Hood Deering; and his brother John Edwin Deering. He is survived by: his wife Lucia Lungu; his sons, Ronald Deering, Jr. (Suzy) of Bluffton and Matt Deering (Kate) of Champaign; his grandchildren, Maddison, Mitchell, Grace, Paige and Davis; his stepchildren, Luisa Templeton (Tony) and Paul Lungu; his stepgranddaughters, Olivia, Catherine, Lucia and Charlotte; his siblings-in-law, Ana Deering, James Connley and Margie Connley; and his nephews, Dana Deering, Mark Deering and Clark Connley.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Champaign Country Club (1211 S Prospect Ave, Champaign, IL 61820). A burial will be held on Saturday, August 24th 2024 at the Highland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or the Illinois Extension Master Naturalist Program.
