He was predeceased by: his father Richard; his wife Kay McIntyre; and his brother Jerry. He is survived by: his children, Marsha Bishoff (Chuck) of Washington, Mark Giles (Jackie Watson) of Neosho, MO, Brian Giles (Linda) of Satellite Beach, FL and Paula Garrison (Darin Joos) of Urbana, IL.; and his brother Larry Giles (Emily) of Mabank, TX.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He had 19 days spent in the hospital in April of 2021 with Covid.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given to Washington Christian Church, 1012 North Main in Washington.
