He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Bruens and Louise Bruens (Scherf); his sister Linda Brazel (Carl) of Milford, IL; and his son Dr. Michael Bruens. He is survived by: his spouse Merridee Clemens; his daughters, Dr. Kimberly Eickmeier (Kerry) of Champaign, IL and Dr. Kristina Gustafson (Danny) of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Kassandra Eickmeier of Monticello, IL, Kolten Eickmeier of Champaign, IL, Parker Gustafson of Charleston, SC and Isabella Gustafson of Charleston, SC; his brothers, Eugene Bruens of Watseka, IL and Randy Bruens of Donovan, IL; his siblings-in-law, Bob, Debi Wesselhoff of Pontiac, IL and Ron Soper of Fairbury, IL; and also, Yorkie (Cleo) and Willow. He is also survived by 10 nephews, 7 nieces and numerous great nieces and nephews.
