It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jack Waaler of Urbana, Illinois, who passed away on August 5, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George R. Waaler and Josephine Dittrich Waaler; his wife Virginia Baker; his sons, Christopher (Betty), Luke Fort Collins (Jennifer) and Grant (Shawn) of Glenwood Springs; his grandchildren, Tyler (Meredith), James, Emily Waaler, Quinn, George and Anna Waaler; and his brother Robert.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (302 W Church St, Champaign, IL 61820).
In honor of Jack and in lieu of flowers, his family asks that you continue his legacy of generosity and consider donating to the Champaign County Humane Society, CU Symphony Orchestra, Urbana Park District or First Presbyterian Church, Champaign.
