With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald Cocagne of Taylorville, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 7, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Darrel E. Cocagne and Annabel L. Cocagne (Kuhn); and his brothers, Edward Joseph Cocagne and Bill Cocagne. He is survived by: his wife Lori Cocagne of Taylorville; his children, Clint Cocagne (Julia) of Mahomet, Nate Phillips (Soo Jin) of Decatur and Chase Cocagne (Megan) of Middleton, Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Kendall Cocagne, Reese Cocagne, Cameron Cocagne and Nora Cocagne; and his siblings, Denny Cocagne (Nancy) of Springfield, Pat White of Minonk and Denise King (Bill) of Maroa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Pillars Event Center (303 E Market St, Taylorville, IL 62568).
In lieu of flowers or memorials, the family would like to encourage everyone to donate blood through their local blood bank.
