He is survived by: his wife LaVerne Calvin of Danville, IL; his children, Melinda "Mindy" Priest (Jeremy) of Westville, IL, Joan Applegate (Nathan) of Danville, IL, Justin Calvin (Samantha Meeker) of Danville, IL, Kevin Hill (Susan) of Ft Myers, FL and Larry Hill (Suszanne Ingram) of Bismarck, IL; his grandchildren, Zach Hill, Jared Hill (Ashli), Logan Hill, Clayton Hill (Cierra), Abigayle Neubig (Danny), Haley Hill, Keely Applegate, Jackson Priest (Katelyn Callahan), Madeline Applegate, Noah Warner, Madison Priest, Scarlett Calvin, Marigold Calvin, Violet Calvin and Vivian Calvin; his great grandchildren, Beau Neubig, Harper Hill, Scarlett Hill and Houston Hill; his brothers, Tim Calvin of Champaign, IL, Mark Calvin (Sue Bennett) of Watseka, IL and Joe Calvin (Angela) of Georgetown, KY; and his friend Jody Calvin of Danville, IL.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, August 18th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center (3940 N Vermilion St, Danville, IL 61834). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made in JP's memory to the Activities Fund for Veterans at the Illiana Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Danville, IL.
