With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donald Francis Sr. (Pontiac, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 9, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph, Sr. Francis and Florence Francis (Tissiere); his wife Margaret Farrell; and his siblings, Kathryn Vitzthum, Joseph, Glenn, Louis and Eugene.
He is survived by: his children, Donald Francis, Jr. of Cedar Falls, Robert Francis (Ann) of Fairbury, Paul Francis (Lori) of Mahomet and Jean Francis of Pontiac; his grandchildren, Laura Krogh (Kevin), Casey Francis (Lacey), Andrew Bassett (Coral), Katie Bressner (Reid), Kelly Cleary (Patrick), Kurt Francis (Leanne), Douglas Francis (Hannah), Rick Francis (Celia Espinosa) and Emily Francis; his brothers, Clifford Francis (Mary) and Clyde Francis; and his sister-in-law Patricia Francis. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery (17251 Billet Rd, Pontiac, IL 61764).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice.
