We announce the death of Michael Keith Peterson of Champaign, Illinois, who passed away on June 11, 2026, at the age of 82. Michael will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He is survived by: his wife Marcia Peterson; his son Craig Peterson (Katie) of Richland, MI; his grandsons, Graham and Owen; his son Ryan Peterson (Sarah); his granddaughters, Brookelynne and Alexsandra; his great grandchild Wylder; his daughter Lindsey Bensman (Brad) of Libertyville, IL; and his grandchildren, Reese and Jack.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (2101 S Prospect Ave, Champaign, IL 61820). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Eastern Illinois Foodbank and Champaign County Humane Society in his memory.
