With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James Duarte of Granada, Colorado, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Abraham Duarte and Carmen Duarte (Ortega); his children, David James Siegman and Teresa Moya-Martinez; and his siblings, Katherine Guerrero, Anita Buchanan, Guadalupe Duarte, Raymond Duarte, Sabino Duarte and Alec Duarte.
He is survived by: his wife Rosa Duarte; his children, Jewell Duarte-Talavera (Mario) of Fort Stockton, TX, James Duarte (Paulina) of Aurora, CO, Jonathan Duarte of Aurora, CO, Gustavo Moya (Dolly) of Meadow, TX and Jose Luis Moya (Mariana) of Meadow, TX; his grandchildren, Mia Duarte, Mila Duarte, Julissa Talavera, Mario Talavera, Alicia Chacon, Josias Duarte, Alejandro Moya, Ruben Moya, Jose Luis Moya, Jr., Hector Martinez, Manuel Moya and Jessenia Villela; and his siblings, Jesse Duarte of Lamar, CO and Stella Esquibel of Granada, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Jesus Christ Church (412 N 2nd St, Lamar, CO 81052). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hillside Cemetery (27000 Co Rd 25, Granada, CO 81041).
Memorial contributions may be made to the James Duarte Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
