He is survived by: his wife Ellen Backes (Green); his son Keith; his grandchildren, Christian, Braden and Chance; his son Kent; his grandchildren, Henry, William, Kurt, Bergen and Rigzton; his brother Larry; his sister-in-law Pat Backes; and his in-laws, Sam, Linda Green, Charles, Kathy Green, Cleone and Bob Haferman. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dick's memory to the Arapahoe High School Science Department—a tribute to his enduring commitment to education and student success.
