He was predeceased by: his parents, John Johnston and Ilene Johnston; his sister Alice; and his sons, Michael Johnston and Ron Hopkins.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Johnston; his children, Kristen Johnston (Martin Ruybal) and Terry Hopkins (Pam); his sister Jan Johnston-Schuerman (Walt); his grandchildren, Trevor (Molika), Jessie (Rod), Terra (Vassie), Ben (Tara), Megan (Zach), Ashley and Savannah (Sean); and his great grandchildren, Laila, Kennedy, Silas, William, Declan, Era and Dua. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
