With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Blakley of Larwill, Indiana, born in Butler, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 8, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert W. Blakley and Bessie J. Blakley (Sarver); his siblings, Olive Carver, Margaret Sanders and Daniel Blakley; his grandchildren, Whitney Shoda and Tyler Yoder; and his great grandchild Colten Graves.
He is survived by: his children, Tobie Blakley (Carla) of Columbia City, Julie Shoda (Mike) of Columbia City, Eric Blakley (Julie) of Whitestown, IN and Andy Blakley (April) of Zionsville, IN. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home (600 Countryside Dr, Columbia City, IN 46725). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in memory of John may be made to Indiana Tech, or New Hope Wesleyan Church.
