We are sad to announce that on April 7, 2025, at the age of 63, Richard Douglas Elkins II of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Richard Douglas' earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Richard Douglas has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dick "Buddy-Roe" Elkins and Norma Elkins; and his sister Candy Elkins. He is survived by: his sister Amy Elkins Reed (Barry Reed); and his nephews, Jake and Sam Reed. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Smith Valley Methodist Church (5293 Old Smith Valley Rd, Greenwood, IN 46143). A reception will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 223 West Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46142.
