It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carmelo Camacho of Hammond, Indiana, who passed away on May 5, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Giudicelli and Carmelo Camacho Arroyo; his siblings, Rafaela, Ana, Susana, Carmen, Juan, Julia and Iris Leonor; his sons, Carmelo Jr. and Jose L.; and his stepson Luis.
He is survived by: his wife Miriam; his siblings, Teodoro and Anita Camacho; his children, Janet (Luis), Julia, George, Suzanne and Carl (Megan); his stepchildren, Kristy and Daniel; his grandchildren, Abie, Luis, Angela, Ferdinand, Maritza, Anthony, Victoria, Rebecca, Antonio and Carmelo; and his stepgrandchildren, Julianna, Lissette and Luis. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Burns Kish Funeral Homes & Cremations - Munster (8415 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN 46321). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the East Chicago Salvation Army in his honor.
