He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose "Pin" Velez and Olga Perez; his sister Blanca; and his brother-in-law Cruzito Alvarez. He is survived by: his wife Carmen "Mela" Perez; his sons, David Perez, Edwin "Ito" Perez and Damaris Perez (Dolly); and his siblings, Miguel Velez (Crystal), Ruben Velez (Mitzie), Iris Camacho (late Juan) and Anna Alicea (Carmelo). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home (4201 W Ridge Rd, Gary, IN 46408). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
