She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond F. Staggs and Sarah E. Cummins Staggs; her sister Sylvia Brown Watkins (Jim); her former husband Colonel John E. Essex; and her son Matthew T. Essex.
She is survived by: her sister Ruth Brown Crockett of Ocala; and her sons, David A. Essex, John E. Essex II (Pam Whittenbarger Essex) and Tom J. Essex (Liz Connor Essex). She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Flanner and Buchanan-Zionsville Funeral Center (105 W Pine St, Zionsville, IN 46077). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Mounts Runn Baptist Cemetery (250 South County Road 775 East, Zionsville, IN 46077).
