She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel C. Kerns and Lorena Kerns (Shultz); her spouse Jimmie "Jim" Lee Burris; and her brothers, Dave and Allie "Butch" Kerns.
She is survived by: her sons, Steven Burris (Jennifer) of Lithia, FL and Kevin Burris (Patti) of Dayton, OH; her siblings, Larry Kerns of Lafayette, IN, Terry Slinker of Fishers, IN, Rick Kerns of Tampa, FL and Mark Kerns (Terri) of Crawfordsville, IN.; her grandchildren, Trevor Burris (Tiffany), Andrew Burris (Jessica), Collin Burris (Brittany) and Katie Blakley; her great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Carson, Colton, Alexa, Evan, Ethan, Izzy and Mikee; and her stepgreat-granddaughter Trynity. She is also survived by neighbors and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lafayette Chapel (914 Columbia St, Lafayette, IN 47901). A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at the Tippecanoe Memory Gardens (1718 W 350 N, West Lafayette, IN 47906).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations maybe made to Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association in loving memory of Carol.
