It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Smitley of Corydon, Indiana, who passed away on July 30, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Lasher and Regina Rogier Lasher; and her brothers, Myron and Martin Lasher. She is survived by: her husband Randy A. Smitley; her children, Joshua Smitley (Susan) of Columbus, IN, Leslie Zeisig (Chad) of Fishers, IN, Jefferey Smitley (Emily) of Corydon, IN, Nicole York (Andrew) of Fishers, IN and Jeremy Smitley (Ginny) of Georgetown, IN; her siblings, Donna Harpenau (Maurice) of Tell City, IN, Debra Scott of Holland, IN, John Lasher (Jane) of Corydon, IN and Chris Lasher (Nikki) of Ferdinand, IN; and her grandchildren, Abigail, Simon Smitley, Justin, Landon, Anne, Elisabeth Zeisig, Ezra, Naomi Smitley, Eli, Jude York, Noah and Gavin Smitley.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home (318 E Chestnut St, Corydon, IN 47112). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (2500 St Mary's Dr NE, Lanesville, IN 47136).
