He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ellis and Dorothy Ellis (Cowin); his wife Nancy; and his brother Steven. He is survived by: his children, Katie Thornton (Shane), James Ellis (Veronica) and Sarah Ayala (César); his grandchildren, Graham Thornton, Joshua Ellis, Sofia Ayala Moran, Benjamin Ellis, Andre Ayala Moran, Valeria Ayala Mirus and Itzel Ayala Mirus; his great grandchild Gabrielle Pérez Ayala; his sister-in-law Shirley Ernest; and his niece Abigail Norman (Corey).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mount Pleasant Christian Church (381 N Bluff Rd, Greenwood, IN 46142). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
