He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Shideler, and Charlene Shideler, Sr. (Soultz); his son Phillip A. Shideler; and his brothers-in-law, Darrell Vardaman and Larry Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Shideler of Marion; his daughter Lori Herring (Mark) of Upland; his grandchildren, Megan Dill (Garrett) of Indianapolis and Derek Herring (Lila) of Indianapolis; his great grandchildren, Amelia June Herring and Forest Alan Herring; his siblings, Ron Shideler (Sue) of Utica, MI and Jayne Mathews of Noblesville; and his sister-in-law Barbara Vardaman of Marion. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel (1341 N Baldwin Ave, Marion, IN 46952). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
