She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Barnes and Georgia Faulds (Buckles); her son James Paul Compton; and her siblings, Roger Barnes, Ray Dean Barnes and Delores Foster.
She is survived by: her children, Tony Compton (Rita) of Cedar Park, TX, Mary Kay Bumpas (Glen) of Normangee, TX, Paula Ojeda (Fred) of Kyle, TX, David Compton (Aya) of Okinawa and Amy Sanders (William Towery) of Tyler, TX; her stepchildren, Cynthia Mitchell (Bob), Elizabeth Turner of Galveston, TX and Fred Rayner II of Dallas, TX; and her sibling's children, Michael Foster (Cindy) of Greenwood, IN, Eric Foster (Mary Kay) of Martinsville, IN, Steve Foster (Charity) of Indianapolis, IN and Linda Oakes (Ervin) of Crothersville, IN.. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and 1 step great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory (110 E Howard St, Crothersville, IN 47229). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 19th 2025 at 3:10 PM at the Cana Cemetery (2850 S County Rd 1300 E, Crothersville, IN 47229).
Memorial donations may be made in Anita's honor to the Wounded Warriors Project.
