He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson Wells and Lucille Wells (Warner); and his brother Jim Wells. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Wells; his children, Vicky Lentz (Ed), Brian Wells (Laura), Susan Naylor (Frank), Chuck Wells (Melissa) and Erin McEvoy (Dave); his sisters, Barbara Dunigan and Betty McQueary; his friends, Jim and Polly Booe; his grandchildren, Lyle Lentz (Jaclyn), Edward Lentz (Yuriko), Sarah Davis (Nathan), Brandon Wells (Emily), Whitney Hunt (Shawn), Kayla Chenoweth (Chris), Samantha Escarcha (Karl), Emily Haffner (Chris), Chelsea Wells, Olivia Wells, Ryley McEvoy and Liam McEvoy; and his great great grandchildren, Julian McDaid-Lentz, Trey Hall, Tessa Davis, Emmi Lentz, Sera Lentz, Josephine Lentz, Benjamin Lentz, Nolan Wells, Zachary Wells, Carter Hunt, Emerson Hunt, Elijah Hunt, Chloe Chenoweth, Kyson Chenoweth, Jude Naylor, Caleb Naylor, Parker Haffner, Mia Haffner, Berkley Haffner and Lone Escarcha. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Schoppenhorst Funeral Home (301 E 8th St, Clay City, IN 47841). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riley's Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.
