With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Morris Oakes of Avon, Indiana, who passed away on August 15, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy William leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though William may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his son Curtis; and his daughter-in-law Anita. He is survived by: his wife Jo; and his sons, Kenneth Oakes, Mark Oakes (Cindy), Michael Oakes (Media) and Matthew Oakes (Nickie). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Round Hill Cemetery (5300 S Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46217).
