She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Abner and Cassie Glass Abner; her husband William G. Smith; her children, Michael Lee Smith, Gilliam Smith, Ruby Rafferty and Lorrie Crouch; and her siblings, Stanley, Harry, Roger Abner and Ruby Stevenson.
She is survived by: her children, William Smith (Diane) of Greensburg, David Smith (Kathy Stringer) of North Vernon, Ronnie Smith (Amy) of Columbus and Mary Sluder (Coy) of Campbellsville, Kentucky; her son-in-law Mike Crouch of Hope; and her siblings, Billy Abner (Linda) of Seymour and Shirley Spradlin of Indianapolis. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, August 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Homes and Crematory - Washington St (1029 Washington St, Columbus, IN 47201). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
