She was predeceased by: her parents, Clayton L. Nichalson and Evelyn Nichalson (Johnson). She is survived by: her husband Patrick Gallagher; her brothers, Terry (Vina), Randy (Debbie) and Tim Nichalson; and her pet Sophie. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A reception will be held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Home (1458 S Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46225).
In honor of Melanie's compassionate heart, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Indianapolis.
