He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Melhiser and Freda Melhiser (Lemmel); his brother Leroy; and his wife Joyce Ann Tackett. He is survived by: his children, Vicki Williamson (Dan), Angela Grant (Jerry) and Michael Melhiser (Melissa); his grandchildren, Andrew Grant (Kristin), Katherine Meisburg (Jack), Danielle Williamson, Jordan Williamson and Olivia Bucci; and his great grandchildren, Beau Meisburg and Aurora Grant.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Market Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes (1119 E Market St, New Albany, IN 47150). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Graceland Baptist Church (3600 Kamer Miller Rd, New Albany, IN 47150).
