It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ann B. Tonkinson (Indianapolis, Indiana), who passed away on August 31, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernie Hemker and Esther Hemker (Sprain); her husband Lealon Tonkinson; and her brothers, Jim and Paul.
She is survived by: her children, Sara Bowron (Mike) and John Tonkinson; her grandchildren, Matthew Tonkinson (Lilly Philbrick), Taylor Tonkinson (Mike Rees), Hannah Bowron and Jacob Bowron; and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Hemker and Marilyn Hemker. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Washington Park East (10722 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church (8115 Oaklandon Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46236). A burial will be held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (9700 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250).
