He was predeceased by: his mother Carrol Deem (Osborne); and his sister Cindy Deem. He is survived by: his father Cyrus Alexis (Jean) of Vincennes; his wife Shelly Deem of Washington; and his children, Meredith Deem of Washington, Austin Deem of Washington and Maddie Deem of Indianapolis.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 8th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church (315 NE 3rd St, Washington, IN 47501). A reception will be held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM.
The Deem family has requested memorial contributions be made in Darrell's name to support IU Student Athletes through the Athletics Director Team Fund, checks can be made out to the IU Foundation, P.O. Box 6460, Indianapolis, IN 46206, Washington YMCA or Washington Catholic Education Endowment Fund.
