He is survived by: his wife Ruth A. Gillig of Decatur; his children, Jim Gillig (Toni) of Indianapolis, Mike Gillig (Peggy) of Carmel and Patty Johnson (Colin) of Monroe; and his siblings, David Gillig, Donald Gillig, Gerald Gillig and Marcella Smith. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Parish Hall (414 Madison St, Decatur, IN 46733). Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 11:20 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church (414 Madison St, Decatur, IN 46733).
