He is survived by: his father Matt Benz; his wife Wilma K. Benz (Poindexter); his sister Phyllis Hollis; his siblings-in-law, Bob Poindexter (Beth), Ron Poindexter (Bev), Marlene Poindexter, Lyndon Poindexter (Cindy) and Pam Wilkes (Mark); his children, Kay Lea Crecelius (Jeff) of Marengo, IN, Kara Elliott (Jim) of Belvidere, IL, Kirk Benz (Shavon) of Marengo, IN and Kim Grizzel (Jim) of Marengo, IN.; and his grandchildren, Jelynn Sheckells (Adam), Evan Crecelius (Shayla), Korrie Kozuhowski (Steve), Kalon Crecelius (Kelly), Kollin Elliott (Mandi), Kolten Benz, Kia Griffin (Tate), Kaylee Purcell (Garrett), Kloee Grizzel (Dane), Zander Sandoval-Grizzel, Klayton Grizzel (Kiersten), Zeriah Grizzel (Kaitlyn) and Zavier Grizzel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Marengo Independent Methodist Church (4495 N. Hardy Road, Marengo, IN 47140). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
